I was trying to innovate on the Linux Desktop today, while hacking on the workspace-switching code for GNOME Shell. I’d written some nice javascript code to make workspaces slide on and off the screen as you added/removed them:
(click for ogg. Yes, the bit at the end is a bug.)
But then after looking at it a little more, I realized the idea was more than 30 years old.
